My actual LFF schedule

27 September 2010

Seeing as being a BFI member, and sending a form via snail mail doesn’t actually get you the hottest tickets in this year’s London Film Festival, I am left with an entirely different choice of films.
This may actually be good for me -forget the main stream over-priced premieres – lets discover some real gems.

So here is what I now have tickets for (2 of each):

Archipelago

at GENESIS
Tuesday 26 October 2010 at 18:15

Joanna Hogg’s follow up to Unrelated serves as a worthy companion piece to her brilliant and acclaimed debut.

Silent Souls

at Vue
Thursday 14 October 2010 at 21:00

Aleksei Fedorchenko’s film is a mystic requiem that combines a funeral journey, a forgotten culture, and an evolving relationship.
And good reviews from Venice.

Miral

at Vue Screen 5
Monday 18 October 2010 at 20:15

A richly textured look at one woman’s experience of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
And starring the rather stunning Freida Pinto.

Imani

at Ritzy
Friday 22 October 2010 at 18:45

This assured first feature from one of East Africa’s most talented women film-makers deals with three parallel stories in the course of a single day in Kampala.

Essential Killing

at Vue Screen 5
Wednesday 27 October 2010 at! 18:15

Vincent Gallo stars as a member of the Taliban on the run in Jerzy Skolimowski’s compelling chase thriller.

and

End of Animal

At ICA, as described in my previous blog.
